Mission Statement

Occupational therapy is skilled treatment that helps individuals learn or re-learn daily living and developmental skills, which may include dressing/bathing, feeding, fine motor, and play/hobbies. The primary purpose of occupational therapy is to insure that individuals achieve or maintain their capacities to function in daily activities at a level which allows as much independence as possible.

The West Virginia Board of Occupational Therapy regulates and licenses persons providing  occupational therapy services to the  general public  in the State of West  Virginia.
 

The Board's purposes are to protect consumers and promote quality of occupational therapy services, and to assure the highest degree of professional care and conduct on the part of occupational therapist and occupational therapist assistants.
