The Secretary of State has approved the Title 13, Series 5
Emergency Rule "Competency Standards for Advanced Practice"
effective June 2, 2009. This Rule allows trained COTA's to
continue to perform Physical Agent Modalities under the general

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE:

The Governor has signed HB2309, amending the WV Occupational Therapy Practice Act! The new Act becomes effective July 10, 2009. All licensees will soon receive a copy in the mail. To view online, select the link below:

Amended Practice Act

Amended Legislative Rules have been submitted to the Secretary of State for consideration in the 2010 Legislative Session. A thirty day comment period is in effect through June 18, 2009.
