Marty is a 1991 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia / Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He became licensed as an OTR with the WV Board of Occupational Therapy in March, 1992, and was appointed to the Board in February, 1999, as an OTR representative. He currently serves as the Secretary / Treasurer for the Board. Marty is a member of the WV Occupational Therapy Association.
Marty currently works in acute care at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston. He and his wife, Angie, reside in Poca, WV, and have three sons.
